Aticama, Mexico

Since hubby got back from a short trip in Aticama last December, we both have been checking and reading Davedod's blog. And the pictures he post's are amazing. It made us all feel so home sick. The hubby made the arrangement with Davedod and am very much happy to share our beautiful space. And that is been in our hearts since the beginning. Click DaveDod to read his adventures!
A place so beautiful should be enjoyed by all, no matter how deep or shallow your  money pocket might be. Anyone who has the respect and the responsibility  to do good and share a space to be enjoyed by others who are very conscientious with the environment, to the people and the community they are in.
Years ago since I came to Aticama village, 17 to be exact was a whole different place. Over the years,I have made so many local friends and visit with them. Welcomed me and my family in years. My kids go to school there, we live like locals. Some time we get  comments like we live more local than local. And that is so good to hear. We live simple. This paradise was heaven and still is, but I can not deny that in the last 10 years some greedy human beings are creeping in and are polluting the area in any way they can for outrageous profit to gain from the local land sales. The old ways suit us best but some how money has the driving force to change and in some ways better and in some ways horrible. We watched the movie "Rum Diary" and somehow I felt like Aticama is being treated in a similar fashion in a different time. " People can put price on everything but knows nothing of Value". Rum Diary.
1-2011 Fog over Matanchen bay, Priceless!
Unlike others, we have no locked doors to our home. Our windows wide open, no grand giant walls surround  our home and yet everything is peaceful. We trust people, it is our strengths but people with so much greed and jealousy violates that. Hill top home, Bird house as the hubby likes to call, is our home with our children and hope to be the home of their children in the future.
There is no place like Aticama anymore in the world and we have the best spot. In my opinion.
