Big Ambition...
It is been two years now that I have my mind thinking of having a goat. Why? Well, as I have mention in the past postings we have about an acre of land, and when the first sign of spring like yesterday which was groundhog day, all of natures life springs to life in a vengeance.
Over the years, I have been tackling my blackberry bushes, Ivy and weeds and I have not won yet. Although I have made so many delicious treats with the thorny vicious bushes, but sometimes I just wish I can contain them before they go wild. And that is where the goat come to play. Then I would have room for the Bees then the chickens. That will keep me busy, don't you think? LOL!
Seriously, I am thinking of these things to have this year in this property. I am all set to start a homemade jam/jelly cooking practice. I bought my first official tools from Amazon the other night to do jams. A blackberry jam with all what I need to make it come from my land. That would be so neat. I know I have helpers to do this things, but how much help I will get that remains to be discover. But I am getting excited of the the thought of an early spring! Garden?
8:30 AM
Mornings in this household gets chaotic and sometimes mechanical, we get up and walking like zombies specially my number 1 son and I. But I found myself thinking when I was cooking for breakfast about this big ambition I have posted. Would I have this thoughts if I were in the Philippines this time in my life? Probably not to have goat but growing pig maybe? Interesting how my mind would wonder these things. And it made me think of my father..
Another Beautiful but blustery February day and I am off to trim Kiwi fruit vine.. more later.

Weng,
ReplyDeleteI love goats too! Especially baby goats because they just love to be petted!

We used to have goats and they were a delight. Very friendly and smart. Plus a nanny goat will provide milk. Be careful what they eat, somethings are poisonous to goats and other things make the milk taste bad.
ReplyDeleteYummm...homemade Blackberry jam...the best! Good luck with your plans for homemade jam! Like the others have said you do need to be careful of what the goat eats. What would you do with the goat when you go to Aticama for the winter?
