Roller Skates

Last year my daughter celebrated her birthday in warm sunny Aticama Mexico her birth land. And this year she will celebrate her number 8, here in our Northern home.

Last week my son went Boulder climb as part of his birthday present from Lula Ruth. And today is another event. My daughter turned eight Monday and for her gift is going rollers skates and  also a gift from Lula Ruth. Grandma Ruth is the best.
My daughter and I do not have the experience to roller skates, and today is going to be interesting. We are going to a local amusement park, Oak Hills and experience our first ever roller skates. And you'll hear about it later. I am excited and nervous!

We are back from roller skating. Oh my. A 45 minutes lesson session we attended to have a few pointers on how to do basic, and to know what to do not falling. Like everything you do it takes practice! And did I fall? You bit! On my butt a few times. The princess V also fallen, but there was no complained the other 2 party goers have done ice skating so they are experienced in falling. But we all had fun and we want to do it again.

  1. Have fun but be careful...those falls hurt...my daughter had a skate party and geez!!! it had been years since i had been on skates(about 20 to be exact) and i think I stayed on my rear end more than on my feet...I felt every fall the next day too lol

  3. Up until our children were late teenagers we would go roller skating all the time. When they were babies I would put them in their strollers go to the park and roller skate for hours. Have not been on skates now for 20 years...afraid I'm to old now...do not recover from the falls as easily as the youngins do!
Glad Kawena, you and her friends enjoyed the skating. Grandmas are awesome and Grandma Ruth is so special for making the childrens Birthday a special day for them. Like I always say "Thats a Grandma's job" to spoil the g-kids!!!
