Philippines 2002

As mention in my yesterday's post to share my story of our visit in my birth country, back in 2002.

After my 2nd son was born in 2000, the hubby was picking up so many work. I remember him working so many hours and going in so many places. At the time I did not have a licensed to drive although I own a vehicle for emergency. But for most of the errands we have to coordinate. It was a very challenging time, with the new born and a 3 year old.
It has been rolling into the 4th year not seeing and visiting my family and I was getting home sick. So we decided that we work and save for a year and leave for the RP in the winter of 2001 to 2002..
The most expensive to buy going back home to visit is the ticket to fly.. Back then 2 were still babies and 2 adults.. It was not as bad...
And we did it!
We bought a Jeepy!

We made enough money that we were able to buy our own vehicle for use while there! I do not remember what the model of this one but it was fun. And we did  vacation.. We traveled to the Island of Camiguin where hot springs is available not far from my Island.
Here are the boys 5 and 2 yrs old.
Me, my 2 friends our hired nanny and my sister L-R!
On this photo we pose for picture all wearing my clothes.. A fashion show if you will.. Happy memory for me.
One of the cottage we rented on the trip.
This was a garden resort close to my parents house.
And this picture below was the cottage under the arrow above. It was on of what was called the executive room. It had an a/c and hot water. This garden resort is facing north on the tip of the Island of Mindanao and the view was great.  At the time it was a bit high on the price to stay for it was a newly opened resort. But it was worth it. The hubby and I took 2 nights off in this cottage and left the boys with my parents and had a good time.
Solid wood cottage with A/C and hot shower..
We manage to be away from Oregon for 12 weeks. Wow! That was amazing, thinking about it now! It would be a lot more work and much more money to get us back home to RP my family now that we are 5 and mostly adults.. One word, Expensive... I am grateful with this trip..
