As you may remember, one thing that I love to do is cooking. It said that about me in my past profile and it also said I hate washing dishes. Well that did not get change. So this cold winter days, I tend to cook more. So I thought chicken soup Wengs recipe. Now that we have this massive, well designed, works great, sophisticated wood stove, designed by the hubby, why not have it simmer on top of it? My heat stove can cook anything, if one has the patience. It sure saves me propane, I know how. Timing is everything in cooking this way. What's in the soup? Half of a whole - chicken sliced up to size preference,1 can of black beans,1can of corn, 4 potatoes dice, 2 stalk of celery cut,1 bay leaf,1 cup onion diced, 2 quart of water, salt and pepper to taste, 1 cup of Brussels sprout (optional) Delicious for the cold days..

Like I said the hubby designed it last summer. Inside the squire floe, it has built in copper coil water line for heating. As it heats up water rises up and stored in reconfigured water heater tanks two floors up in chambers. The room chambers designed also to collect passive heat from a heavy duty steel smoke stack! We have wood fired hot water to the max! I do have a regular stove to cook but for simmering or heating water for tea, it sure works great. The details of this great design is for the hubby to share one of this days!
Mmmmm chicken soup, my favorite. I also add a bunch of the baby sized carrots and lots of onions. Great triple duty, heater, hot water heater and cooktop...bonus!
ReplyDeleteNice set up for making hot water! Chicken soup sounds yummy! You'll get more chances to cook this week, since the weather looks to keep being wet and cold outside. Enjoy the warm!!
