Many of you may have read all of George blog postings about meeting me and my family. And this time I thought, how about me sharing to you my story about meeting him.
It was in February of 2009 when I first met George. It was, as always, it begins with a beautiful sunny morning in paradise. Hilltop home Aticama Nayarit. We were on our way driving our Toyota station wagon taking the kids to school in Aticama and do some errands after. Coming down from hilltop home there was this man with a sombrero ( hat) on his head and walking boots coming up the hill. I have never meet him before but the hubby did and have mention before of their meeting on the beach where the flyboy's were.
What he (George) didn't know was, the family had many visitors and parties that had happened the previous weeks. I did not want to go anywhere for a week but hubby insist I go with them. We were not totally unpacked for this arrival in our hilltop home at that time and a major changed of the condition to the access of our home. One week of preparation before guest and we were only up at hilltop home for 4 days. There was a double planned unconventional baptismal and 2 birthday parties one for my son and the other was for my daughter and a dear friends daughter also, both born the same day. It was me to do all of the preparation of hubby's grandiose idea. And at that time one revelation of a BIG heart break for me also. It was crazy and I was crazy. So, what I am saying is, I was grumpy and angry!.
Hubby introduced me and the kids and I shook his hand and said hello. He was told to be our guest, "me casa es so casa" and that he can go inside and be at home. And if he is still around for a few days come and have food with us. Off we went. He continued walking up.. And that was my first meeting of him.
Not long after that he came back one afternoon at sunset. Flyboy David, was there visiting and talking and just having good time conversation out in our porch, up hill top home. Then as always the question of curiosity comes out. How did you two meet? My answer as always with no hesitation " I am a mail order bride." We were pen-pals, we wrote letters to each other by mail. I love to watch peoples faces and reaction when I say those words. George said "I be darn!" I remember it. Then I went on and on about our story because I like to talk about it when an interested listener is very curious. So then he mention that he has a blog. He talk about a bit and I have no concept of what a blog was. But I always wanted to write, In fact I had a blog but it was mainly to share my photos to my family back home and to share what my little family here is up to from time to time. Then he mentioned blogging and possibly earning income at the same time. I was hooked! I had so much to say at that time and still is. I wanted to write my stories from the beginning. The now and then and everything in between!
I've visited with him after our meetings a few times in Miss Tioga at Matanchen beach where he loves to day camp. We discuss some detail and he showed me a few things on his own blog. I was very excited and at the same time very nervous. He will help me establish and show me many things to get started and set many things that are beyond my comprehension with computers and Internet. He mentored me and encouraged me and supported me in this process. I am very grateful to him. And he will always be in my thoughts, as long as I can write and speak. He is part of my sharing of my stories to you. I had my mind set. I want share all and it will come from the heart... And that was also his advise! The hubby second it! And here I am.... Since then he continues to help me even now.
My admiration for you George continues and I thank you for being my dear friend. There is this saying " the right place at the right time!" That was you George!
