surprise....

Yesterday I was so excited. While walking the kids for their bus up to our driveway, I saw  many spring things popping out of the ground. My Tulips and other bulb plants which I planted the fall of 2010 was saying hello from the ground. This will be the first time I would be able to enjoy watching them flower.
The sun was so bright yesterday morning and was just perfect. We rush off to do yard work the hubby and I but did a detour on our way thinking it will be a lovely day altogether.  I cleaned a yard and did yard work while he put up wire fence to prevent small dogs interring in the property. The hubby bought me a new tool to try for the job.

It's  Japanese garden layout/themed and it has many plants which I do not know the names and have been maintained. I was ask to continue its maintenance. The couple who was doing the work before me did a fabulous job. The garden is just beautiful. Now that it is in my hand I needed more tools. The owners are not particular but the plants are. So my learning and self education to most or all of their plants is an ongoing process. I help four gardens and each time when I do the work I give myself  a moment to be focus on where I am and what plants are in front of me and how it would be care for and what the owners preference for their care also. It is a test of my memory and my ability to do the work right and done well. And it is very rewarding to me. When I step back and see the work and the beauty it shows. Nice clean and tidy.
But today, it snowed! Surprise! It rained all night and woke up and saw the skylight covered with the white fluff.

After all, we are still in winter season.. Kids are excited to see the white stuff again!

It has been a wild weather today! I just returned to drop my 15 year old to his drama practice, and on the way my girl had a play date. She was invited for roller skates event. As we pile in the car the sun was out and bright as it can be with blue sky. By the time we arrive in school which was 2.9 mile from where we live it snowed. And I went off to the library and by the time i got back home it rained and cloudy. It has been this wild all day and now the wind is rolling in. What a day to take the day off so we can work on our own yard! Cold, wet snowy, But we got to do what we got to do.. And here we go.
The heating stove is working full time and cooking some fresh portabilla mushroom on top for snack. Yum..

  1. "The owners are not particular but the plants are."

That sounds like a good philosophy to live by ... bet the earth would appreciate our being as particular as the plants.

  2. I agree.
Awareness is a big part of consideration that I practice when I do my work!

It would be a feather in your cap. And you could maybe make more money.
